Affordable fix for Subaru transmission lockup solenoid | Dorman OE FIX 926-408

preview_player
Показать описание
Many of Subaru’s popular automatic transmissions rely on a torque converter clutch (TCC) to lock up the torque converter. The TCC helps with fuel efficiency while also decreasing engine RPMs in high gear, saving wear and tear, and preventing torque converter slip. A solenoid in the transmission valve body actuates the TCC, and over time, the solenoid can fail. Subaru does not sell the solenoid individually, so the only solution from the dealer is an expensive new valve body.

Dorman’s OE FIX 926-408 torque converter lockup solenoid replaces only the failed component inside the valve body for specified vehicles. In this video, learn some of the common signs of failure for these components, as well as how to install this OE FIX replacement.

I will start by saying I really appreciate that this video exists because a lot of parts manufacturers don't even make videos. That being said, it's pretty lacking in detail, and I don't really know why.

Your tutorial on the removal / install of the solenoid is appreciated.

Replaced mine with this part, lasted about 4 thousand miles. Even though I ended up replacing the whole valve body afterwards, the 92$ for the solenoid was still worth it in my opinion.

How exactly do you check the Transmission fluid levels on a sealed Transmission what has no dip stick?

My 2012 Subaru Outback is showing P0700 and P2762 (lock up Duty Solenoid Malfunction) codes. Do you think this would fix it? Thanks

Nidec makes the original solenoids and they're used in multiple vehicles brands. We just need to find somebody who is willing to sell them directly (or place a bulk buy order with Nidec).

I have a p0971 code with similar dash lights on. Will the 926-408 work?

The Dorman website does not list any solenoids to fit my 2014 Subaru Crosstrek with a 2.0. Is that correct?

Dorman parts don’t last, If you are going to replace just the solenoid get a used OEM one from a junkyard valve body and test its resistance, It should be around 13 ohms if it’s a good unit

How are you determining which of the solenoids needs replaced? It looks like there are four inside. I am getting the P2764 Code and all of the symptoms that go along with it.

BAD idea IMHO. You’re already taking out the valve body… just simply replace it OEM!
