The fact that Mike Tomlin is not a top 3-5 coach in the nfl is disrespectful.

Kevin Stepanski ranks the same as his team, in the middle of the pack, the best coached game was done when he was idled with Covid-19 against the Steelers. He has yet to show exactly what kind of coach Andrew Berry hired

I agree with the ranking this past season. If he would have shut down Baker after week 2 and start Case Keenum, his ranking would be alot better. The Defense underperformed because of the bad field position which the offense didn't help them out either. He choose an egotistical injured Baker over OBJ and Jarvis. Alot of this might have AB hand in this, trying give an evaluation at the QB position. His ranking will improve dramatically this season with or without Watson.

This is the question nobody wants to talk about. This team is loaded and if the team doesn’t go to playoffs then it’s all on the coaching staff. They cannot ask Andrew Berry for anything else. Offense, defense and special teams.

And this is why I don't put a lot of stock in these sorts of surveys, they are dry, provide no context or additional facts, which may well change the whole list around.

I would monitor the quarterback situation before bringing OBJ back. If DeShaun gets to go, then I'd absolutely attempt to bring him back. Wouldn't make sense to do it if he's forced to play with Baker again.

AVP has never called plays, Stefanski just trusted baker too much last year

The Browns didn't fire Belichick, they moved to Baltimore and then he was fired.

Same: And by same, we should run as far away from OBJ talks as possible. This belief that OBJ turned it around in LA is extremely overstated. The only thing that really drastically improved was his TD production & that's easily attributed to C.Kupp drawing attention in Red Zone & leaving Odell in man situations with the Boundary Corner or released to a Nickel or even a LB. We treated him like a WR1 in CLE & he's not that anymore. He can't get separation against top flight CBs. If you look closely at his Pops video the majority of the plays Baker "missed" him, he wasn't open when Baker was looking at him. It's after Baker looks away to move through his progressions that he comes open. And stop the presses you could find this to be true for about any WR on any team. That's why if blocks are held long enough for a QB to work back through his reads a 2nd time there's usually a guy wide open... Below are some #'s to chew on comparing OBJ in CLE vs LA and you tell me if there's a vast difference.

CLE: 6 games (per game avg's) - 2.8 rec's on 5.6 targets, for a 50% catch rate, and 4 drops.
LA: 7 games (per game avg's) - 3.5 rec's on 6.5 targets, for a 57% catch rate, and 0 drops.

He was essentially the same WR except he wasn't dropping ball with Rams.

YES: To Stefanski improving, but it has more to do with Team success than his coaching ability. He had some huge gaffs last season. I would support AVP calling plays. KS is still a young coach & there's so much stuff the HC needs to be plugged into on GameDay, but calling plays is almost a singular focus that takes away from those things. AVP showed himself well in Playoff game vs PIT. Plus KS will be part of developing gameplan of course and the first 15 or so plays are scripted anyhow. Then as HC he'll still be on headset & have override authority on critical down & distance plays. I think it would be helpful for him to concentrate on being a HC versus having his GameDay's dominated by play calling.

And yeah, those analytic coach rankings are absurd... Tomlin as much as we all hate him is easily a top 3 coach. This man went 8-8 with Mason Rudolph and Devlin Hodges at QB!!! He probably should have been Coach of the Year for that job...lol

Lastly, I would respectfully disagree with the assertion that our defense was two-faced. Most of those subpar performances was at the beginning of the year, when there's always growing pains as you work in new players & new concepts for the returning players. I mean the KC game was first game of the year, which is never indicative of what the team will ultimately be. After that Week 6 game versus the Cardinals and if you subtract the 1 outlier game vs the Patriots we only gave up 17.5 pts per game the rest of the year. And that includes the 26 we surrendered in Week 17, Monday Night game, against PIT, where we essentially gave up... We finished #13 in Pts, #12 vs Run, #5 vs Pass, & #5 in Total Defense. That's pretty good and I feel will only improve in 2023. Let's

That’s ridiculous with the rating. He’s no less than 5 to me.
