Power Trip's combination of thrash metal and hardcore punk sounds like it came straight out of the mid-80s; accurately bringing back the sounds of bands like Cro-Mags and Suicidal Tendencies with incredible accuracy.

Hi Anthony first of all I want to say I love your channel even I don't agree with you most of the time hehe :) I want to recommend you to give a listen to "The Foreshadowing" they are an italian Gothic Doom Metal, still kinda very underground but they have 3 fantastic albums now. A band in 2013 sounding like the 80's? I guess I'll have to take a listen because I'm almost always willing to pass off anything that tries to imitate an older sound as "faux-retro". If it sounds just like Suicidal Tendencies, it's gonna' be a weird listen (even though I love ST).

Great album, but nothing new, makes me want to listen to suicidal tendencies. Have you heard the new Boris yet? It takes the fragile pop they crossed in their recent noise rock albums and blends it with the crushing doom of floods but not amplifier worship heavy. It's my #1 of 2013

I like this album because, I too, am a sucker for thrash metal. But, it does sound textbook thrash/hardcore most of the time. These guys have members of iron age and they just do this style of hardcore very well. Definitely a band that is far better to enjoy live than on record. I don't understand why they don't invest in better production. It's 2013 for crying out loud!!!
