Volcano Bay FULL TOUR & REVIEW | Ride POVs | Worth a Trip?

This is my hopefully comprehensive review of Universal's Volcano Bay where I'll be outlining the good, and the (not so) good. I've also added my favourite tips for getting the best out of any visit to this popular water park.

This is probably my favorite park in all of Orlando, theme parks included. The people who leave bad reviews aren't mad at Volcano Bay, they're mad at the people that got to the park before them 😂

I went on a partially
rainy day in February, had pretty much all the rides to ourselves and after an a couple it cleared up and was still empty because it was 2 hours away from closure.We got to experience all the rides there and it was incredible!

This is probably my favorite water park I have ever been too, super immersive and the tap bracelets are nice because you don’t have to wait in line for so long

I forgot, here's a personal tip from me - pick up a pair of those water slip-on shoes, you can wear them on all the rides, which is great. Trust me, after spending several days at all the parks, you're going to feel it, and walking barefoot or even in flip flops is not the best idea as the park is quite large.

Being a northerner, this park is incredible. We go in early February, so at home it is snowy and cold. It is best to go right when you arrive in Florida, because being able to be outside and swim the day after having to shovel your driveway and being freezing kind of highlights the experience. I love this park, and I absolutely cannot wait to go there this winter :D!

My favorite water park. I’m there at least once a week. Your tips are spot on. I always come early and pick a lounge by the not so lazy river. It’s still a secret spot after all this time and doesn’t fill up until later on. Not like the front of the park. Fabulous theming. Better than usual park food. Tapu Tapu a great idea. My happy place. I went around spring break for me (2018) and rode everything and had a blast with all my friends, wait times were decent and there was still a lot to do. Food was a 7.5/10 and that’s really generous from a particular eater lol. The bad reviews are just mad they didn’t get their way. Definitely one of the best water parks and I lived down the street from adventure island and been to aquatica and wet n wild.

We spent a month in Florida, mostly at WDW, but our day at Volcano Bay was by far, our best day of the month! Loved it there!!

I went last summer and I highly recommend this for anyone who likes water parks! There are thrill rides like drop slides with a 4 and 6 foot drop slides, a rapid river, a slide that shoots you down through the volcano and much more! There is also a great kids section and a wide selection of family friendly slides! My personal favorite is the Iku Moana. The Iku Moana is a wall slide. Me and family personally thought the talking tiki in the volcano was hilarious! We came here for two days that were not in a row and it remembered are names! (Note: a real person works the talking tiki!) It was a rainy day both times we went but luckily no lighting or thunder so the park remained open. Another thing is beware of the punga racers slide!!! It may not look dangerous but a little girl almost got ran over by a grown woman on the racer slide. The thing that happened is there was no lifeguard at the top and she was stupid enough to go when the light was still RED! Hint hint woman! RED MEANS STOP!!! I’m so mad at her cause I’m the little girl who almost got crushed by a frickin grown woman!!!! So back to my rating on the park! Overall I rate the restaurants a 4.5 out of 5! So overall Volcano Bay gets a 5 out of 5 from me!

Thanks this was Very helpful. My #1 tip would be to come already in your swim suit. Saves you time and having to change in a potentially already damp change roo.

I find it hard to believe that volcano bay gets such poor reviews. We went to Florida September 2018 and found that typhoon lagoon and blizzard beach were looking a little tiered compared to volcano bay. Don’t get me wrong the Disney water parks were still fun but if I could only go to one water park out of the 3 I’d go with volcano bay!
