Using Fenix Desktop Web Servers

Just got introduced to Fenix. Installed and up and running without pause (except for a quick video tutorial). Just want to say thanks for your hard work. Fenix really is beautiful, simple and functional.

I like this ALOT but its running so slow on my system. I installed miniweb http server and its fast! I even installed web server extention to chrome browser and its waaay quick. I completely deleted both and tried this because i love the set up and ease of use, its the best but when another system in my home network tries to access the files its ultra slow...maybe taking a minute or more where as the other 2 apps i mentioned earlier did it in about 5 seconds tops. any ideas why its so slow? Im on windows 7 64bit pro

I don’t understand the purpose of the third party tunnel. Can’t I just pass to my friend the link (ip-port-folder) ?

Why did I have to google so much to find Fenix? I had it on my old PC. Got the new PC working, forgot about Fenix didn't need it for a while. Forgot even the name. Now when I need it, it took multiple google searches to find it again.

I tried enabling the public link, but getting an error "open undefined" instead of url. Let me know the solution for it.

My html file does not run with fenix because iIt still won't allow local files to be accessed. Thoughts?

I apologize for the ridiculously late responses - I wasn't getting notifications and I had alot of life circumstances to deal with.

You can change the web server name by clicking the pencil icon and editing the name. However; you cannot change the domain (i.e. localhost or 127.0.0.1) because that is a function of DNS, not a function of a web server. However; adding a customizable DNS server is something being seriously considered for version 3.0.0.

This is not really competing with XAMPP/LAMP/WAMP. Fenix has a narrower focus. However; many users will find Fenix meets all of their needs... for those users, Fenix could replace some of those stacks.

If you receive an error about a non-active client, it means your connection to the free localtunnel web service timed out. To fix it, just reshare the site (but beware it may assign a new link).

Neat little Windows (and Mac) personal web server...looks very functional, fast, and easy to use. Do you have to use the public "localtunnel.me" to display websites publicly, or can you map the web server(s) to one's external IP address?

Also, regarding the "directory contents" feature, are password-protected directories available?

In Windows 10 Home, if there are permission issues, where would one go to enable the ability to run on port 80?

I lose you where you say "I am going to show you the Fenix Test Site." Did you create this, or does that come with the installation? I have a Mac, and at this point in the set up, I am not sure what I should be linking to. Nothing comparable shows up in my documents folder, and it's very difficult to see what you are doing on your screen at this point in the video, anyway.

What about us poor sods who need a helping hand with grades 1-12? Then I notice 1014. I can only hope more presentation have been made. Best presentation I have seen relating to other local usb servers availble but, frankly, I feel real to dumb to work with are multiple variables. I have to use a IT dictionary. I learned Wordpress and built some cool sites for my purposes BUT, as to server and backend. I feel soooo very lost.
