Floyd is jealous of Manny, deep inside he is a huge fan of Manny. Let's be real here, 90% of Floyd's fight are either robberies or controversies. Castillo, Dela Hoya, Cotto, Maidana, Pacquiao, Ortiz, Mosley etc etc all of these are either robberies or controversies.

Huge fan of Pac, but the hate on Floyd is too much. Together, they made an unbeatable record for their generation, the unbeatable boxer Floyd and the unbeatable resume Pacquiao. They both did great for the sport, let them rest if they want to and leave Floyd alone. Fans shouldn’t be questioning Floyd/Manny, they should be questioning whether the new generation can beat their records.

At the end of the day, the two have mutual respect for each other. The title is a bit of a clickbait to be honest. Floyd didn't "rip into" Manny. He actually wants his and Manny's legacy to be cemented individually and as the greatest fighters of this generation.


Huge Manny fan here. Floyd and Manny are just two sides of the same coin. No hate for Floyd and he has low-key points in his post:

1. Wants Manny's name and legacy to stand on their own, same with his
2. He wants to stay retired and doesn't need/want to fight
3. He is working with and for Manny, promoting his fights and both are making that $$$
through PBC and Mayweather Promotions
4. He and Al Haymon are doing a much better job giving Manny what he deserves - a much bigger slice of the money pie


Highlighting the perspective that Floyd is working for Manny, Floyd is doing the same thing as when Al worked for Floyd - fighters have a bigger say at PBC because that outfit represents and works for the fighters much more than Top Rank or other boxing promotions. One can argue, Manny wouldn't have had a career resurgence hadn't Al, Floyd, and PBC helped Manny settle his US IRS tax problems
. Why do you think Manny left TR? He's been a loyal company guy through and through but he's been getting robbed by Bob over and over. He could have bought out the rest of his contract but he didn't.

Do I want to see a Mayweather rematch? Meh. I don't mind it. But we know it's going to be more of the same since Floyd will fight the same kind of fight. Besides, these guys are not just friends outside the ring, they're business partners. Through Floyd and Al, Manny's finally becoming his own boss, deciding who he fights. He chose to fight Broner and Thurman, whereas with TR, Manny reportedly wanted to fight Bud Crawford in 2016/2017 but Bob Arum wanted to give him someone else (e.g. Alvarado, Horn, bums) because a then-37-year old Manny might do to Bud what he did to his "projects" in the past (e.g. undefeated Tim Bradley) and ruin a future cash cow. Bob even admitted that he was the one who killed the Pac-Crawford fight. Crawford might have beaten Pacquiao in 2016/2017 or it might have been the other way around but thing is, because of greed and boxing politics in TR, we're all here left wondering "what if?", but I digress.


Floyd isn't afraid of Manny, he likes the guy a lot and cheers for him since the Morales I fight. Of course he can't be seen around Manny, and it seems Ellerbe is the proxy, being around Team Pacquiao all the time. Floyd just can't risk losing that 0 because that's the foundation of the "Money Mayweather" brand. Thurman didn't mind. Errol Spence Jr. doesn't mind. Floyd minds because it's not just a boxing record, it's a marketing tool. They don't need a rematch to be honest. I'd rather see Manny fight either of the WW Garcias in PH for a farewell/retirement bout, but not Spence or Porter - the latter two are probably too much.
