Israel has resumed military operations in Gaza, so any ceasefire or hostage deal that was on the table can be kissed goodbye.

Peter mentions that Israel controls access in and out. Reminder that Egypt also has a border with Gaza and it too limits access to and from Gaza. Why? To also try to limit the terrorists from Gaza

Tell us about why the Gaza - Egypt border is never opened?

He keeps on saying it’s an open air prison and only the Israelis can let you out but he seems to ignore the fact that that Gaza has a border with Egypt. But the Egyptians built a massive five fence fortification along their border and they never let Gazans in. Israel has to let Gazans leave if they had documentation and after background checks but some of the ones allowed into Israel towns to work actually provided intelligence to Hamas which made their October 7th attack.

Comment types today:
1. "How did you not mention that Gaza has a border with Egypt too?"
2. Peter is wrong about everything
3. Peter is shilling for X, Y, or Z
4. How dare Peter put his free content on a one-week delay?
5. Gibberish

When I started listening to Zeihans demographic stuff I subscribed. He seemed to be an unbiased reporter of facts and logic.
I'm not so sure anymore.. The last couple of videos reveals his true weltanschauung

Not a word about the 59 hostages?
Had they released them, the war would have ended in a second.
That's the 80%+ opinion in the Israeli public, which find it very hard to stand this long war.

What is the basis for the claim that the "humanitarian crisis" in Gaza facilitates Hamas recruitment efforts? Hamas had no problems with recruitment before the 10/7 attack and before the Israeli reaction. I don't believe that people can be somehow manipulated to make "the right" choice After Israeli forces left Gaza, the population could have chosen to give up the violence and focus on gaining prosperity, but they haven't. Now, when they are in dire straits, they also have a choice. But it's their choice. They will make the right choice only when they'll decide to do so. Until then, Israel will do what it must to secure the lives of its citizens. This is not only its right but its the moral obligation. The responsibility and the blame for the humanitarian situation in Gaza lays fully on Hamas and on those countries that can accept refugees from there but refuse to do so for political reasons- first and foremost on the Egypt, but not only on them.

Why does the ability to recruit matter if they can't rearm and resupply?

No mention of the reasons why they "went back". Seems like an important information left out to make this move seem malicious.

Gaza is an open air prison because of Egypt and Hamas. Why didn't you mention them? Why no mention of any other Arab or Islamic country who doesn't want the Gazans to be allowed to leave?

Which greenhouses?? And concerning the "can't get out unless the Israelis allow it..." what about Egypt? Nothing about them? And... 2, 3 million - that's according to the Hamas census. We don't really know how many they are.

Well, I remember someone saying with a kind of snarky emphasis..."Gaza is a tempest in a tea pot...."

Zeihan recorded this take 7 days ago. In the past 3 days there have been mass protests against Hamas from people in Gaza. Hoping for a better follow up here.

Egypt! The “open air prison” inhabitants can go through Egypt to get out of the aforementioned. Landlock States are not a prison just because their neighbors do not allow them passage.
