Absolutely loving this season. I confess that I was reticent at first, but oh how I've changed my mind! Everything so beautiful, so vibrant, so fast paced! And the costumes! Oh, really love how the show was upgrade in that aspect!

Absolutely gorgeous costumes this season!! Amazing to hear the accents of the actors interviewed compared with the accents of their characters. On a side note, I’m so happy to see Esther’s character development - last season I never would have imagined hoping for her character to have a fulfilling resolution to her story, but here we are!

Look, I am not expecting actors to be experts in historical undergarments, but could we please stop with the whole "corsets were torture devices" trope. Yes, there have always been less comfortable/practical high fashion or formal versions of the garment, but throughout the 18th and 19th century, stays/corsets were worn by almost everyone who presented as female. These garments were the historical equivalent of a bra.
Also, just as a side note, the late Regency stays of the show would probably have been less comfortable than the 1780s and 1790s stays that preceded them (unless you were wearing short stays). In order to get the high and separated bustline of the later Regency, women inserted long wooden busks down the center front of their stays and those have a habit of digging into the body. Tight lacing on the other hand was something that was pretty uncommon until the mid to late 19th century, as the construction style of earlier support garments was not really designed to significantly reduce the waist and most of the materials used would not have been able to stand up to that much tension.
