Alexey Kochetkov - 'Lost in the Stars'

Alexey Kochetkov is a Berlin based violinist, composer and music producer. He was born in Russia but in the last seven years lives and works in the German capital.

The piece "Lost in the stars" which Alexey performs in this video uses advanced live looping techniques and is played on an octave violin - a peculiar modification of the traditional instrument, which makes it sound like a cello. His composition is meant to reflect on humanity getting lost in inner conflicts, while it should unite to face important global problems.

"We are a tiny little planet on the edge of the Milky Way. Nothing what we are fighting each other for is significant on the global universal scale. It will be sad if because of our quarrels humanity will simply get lost in the stars".
