the way they designed and animated Foal makes me realize that with the right budget it *is* possible to animate animals without too much realism and without making it too overly-animated. Foal is the perfect example of an animal that looks like it came straight from a disney film/story whilst looking like a real life foal, even with realistic proportions they manage to make it *work*. It's sad to see that they don't apply this type of design with the recent live-action disney movies (The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, etc), it would've not only made the characters look more like they did in their original films, but also would've been more pleasing to the eyes instead of having them be incredibly realistic animals with voices.
