Lyrics and Meaning:

Alakh niranjan Ghil Ghil gunjana bHava bHaya bHanjana bairAgi
DhaDa dhaDa bandanu dvAradi nindanu bHiksheyu endanu A jogi

“Alakh Niranjan” he chanted away - the fearless, colourless being…
He came in stride, standing at the door - an Alms seeking Yogi.

Chandana charchita Bhasmodvarchita bandHura sundara sanyAsi
Smeared in and sacred ash, adorned in sandalwood paste - A transfixing beautiful saint…

Yede jHal enditu - mai Jhum enditu saiyama(सैयम) pAshavu saDilittu
KangaLa mangaLa kAntiya shAntiya kaDalina oDalali siDilittu

Her heart skipped a beat, Her body in tingles - her ropes of restraint loosened…
In the gentle and calm ocean of her eyes - thunder and lightning had struck!

Nachike nalleya galla gulAbige mellane gullanu kottittu
Embarrassed and shy, her cheeks slowly turned red.

Alakh niranjana alakh niranjana kanchina kanThavu moLagittu
HeNNina kaNNige habbava habbisi minchina mooruti belagittu

“Alakh Niranjan, Alakh Niranjan” his ringing voice came back…
A festive joy, spread across her eyes, the lightning struck again!

SHapaTHavu mareyitu kupaTHavu tereyitu kareyitu kinkiNi jHenkAra

Forgetting her duties, she chose the mischievous path,
As the sounds of the Yogi’s bell called out to her…

KaraNava yeleyitu haraNava seLeyitu hoonkarisuva smara TankAra
Nillada meluda mellane teeDuta saridaLu praNayada rangeri

Reason vanished, she was taken over, as the roar of love resounded..
She stood gracefully, moved gently, as she adjusted her colourful saree…

Nillele jogiye ninnaya kaNNali yentaha kAntiyu kuNiyutide
Tejah punjada kAnti vilAsake ravi shashi naidile maNiyutive

“Oh Yogi standing in front of me, what is this brilliance i see in your eyes?
Radiant like a gem, your shine stands out even amongst the sun and the moon!”

Alakh niranjana alakh niranjana marudina bandanu A jogi
Ukkina bAgilu gakkane tereyitu muntere sareyitu mareyalli

“Alakh Niranjan, Alakh Niranjan” - he came back again, the next day…
The closed door, she swiftly opened, and he stood in front of her again.

TAyiye tegeduko ennuta jogiyu neerege THAliya kottidda
THAliya taLadali THala THala hoLeyuva kannugaLeradanu ittidda

“O Mother”, he called her, and the Yogi gave her his begging bowl…
At the bottom of the bowl, were kept his two sparkling eyes.

TAyiye ninneya dina nee nennaya kaNNina baNNane mADiddi
Garatiya goriya kattida togalina A kaNN kittido tandihenu

“O mother, you spoke so admiringly of my eyes yesterday
I plucked and brought them to you, which built a married woman’s grave”

Alakh niranjana alakh niranjana naDedanu nirvyathe A jogi
Togalina kaNbaliyindali gnAnada oLegaN tereyisi kuruDAgi

“Alakh Niranjan, Alakh Niranjan” - the Yogi walked away, unbothered…
By giving up his outward eyes, he opened her inner eye!

My heart 😭❤ shambho!

The way Ram Anna sang through each part, was just, out of this world. The part where he describes how the woman felt upon seeing the yogi for the first time, myself as a woman I felt it so deep within me.

Each paragraph, each emotion, he was so accurate. Even in the last few moments 😢 spine-chilling illustrations!

if only she didn't fall in love with the yogi, and if she didn't confess, she wouldn't have seen the divine in his eyes and he also wouldn't have given his eyes to her love. Finally he gave his eyes for her to realize where does her love actually take her 😭😭 he wants her to realize that she fell in love with the divine itself. And he was willing to sacrifice his own eyes where she saw the divine (whereas he knew the divine through his whole self). There's no greater joy for the yogi than to realize that somebody has fallen for the divine through his eyes and he gave it up!

I'm just so moved by this. In this era, we have sadhguru, who has given his eyes to all of us. Many of us weren't like the woman, and yet he gave his eyes for us to see through. Thank you for everything sadhguru 😭❤

I don't have the audacity to comment on the song .... The visual artwork just elevated the "Bhaba" and the "Rasa" of the song to a whole new level. ❤❤❤

So giving up his eyes, yogi discarded the external beauty that holded the woman. Mading her realise, externality is not worth chasing for, giving her way for inner unfoldment.

Detachment, selflessness and purity... Our dharma stood for these tenets that are the key takeaways of this touching lyric. This is a timeless testimony to the dharma that we are part of.🙏🏼🙏🏼

Even without completely understanding the lyrics this song drove me crazy, but after seeing the meaning of each line, it's just too much. Never felt so overwhelmed. Thank you to everyone involved in making this masterpiece.

am watching on repeat mode
the translation is as sweet at the lines
the gify visuals are bringing the scene alive
the music is soft and beatish
the voice is coarse and deep
the colors are earthy and breathing

It's playing in my head now 24/7. No one except Ram Miriyala can sing Can't get over this song. This will stay with me for life. This is what Bharat is. This is why once a yogi was asked What pleasures he's known in life by a westener and he replied you come from Bhogi bhumi (land of pleasures) and i come from Tyaga bhumi (land of sacrifices).
No words to describe what ive experienced.

Superb 😊..That's the power of giving ...By giving his eyes, the Yogi opened her inner eyes ...wish her eyes could have opened ....
And the whole world is at the Yogi 's feet, in the praise of the Yogi.
But ;who knows whether the queen's inner eyes are opened or not yet or still blinded by the power !!!Nice compose ....
The power of Yogi /Yogini ...Every king/queen should get enlightened through such story..Their inner eyes must get opened ....
