The touching ending music of Tokyo Ghoul’s 2nd Season, arranged for piano.

At first, I thought the ending theme really sounded great (musically speaking). But then when I saw the lyrics translation by Thaerin, it just hit me right in the heart. I was moved by it, because like “Unravel”, the composer tried to capture Kaneki’s thoughts and feelings… I’ve been obsessed with this song ever since.

After 8 years I think this is the best cover of a tokyo ghoul song ever. I know unravel is an amazing song, but this song and this anrrangement only hits different.

I always found this a bittersweet song, but because the endings were fit to each episode, and they could reflect back at you everything that made you sad in that episode, the song just became plainly sad to me, especially when it hit the chorus. But hearing this, I was hit with a completely different kind of feeling, hope. It was beautiful, I felt like it was reaching out and trying so desperately to grasp the light with a will to never give up. I was a little overwhelmed, I almost cried. I had to stop what I was doing, I couldn't go on.
That was beautiful.

That "piano" is actually a BOMB with enough power to destroy Tokyo....and the way to disarm it is to play an incredibly beautiful song on it like a pro without making a single mistake.

I never understood why this anime in particular stood out to me. It wasn't just the art. It wasn't just the action. Watching Tokyo Ghoul, they emphasized how people will fight against you just based on differences. These certain differences that we can't help. And, I know first hand how people can be when you're different, so I was really drawn in by the characters and the things they were saying.
While the ghouls were saying "This is all we eat!" I found myself saying, "This is only who I can be."
We can only be ourselves. This is the one absolute truth that is clear to me.

Is it me or is it that Tokyo ghoul season 2 songs sounds bit more peaceful than before

This song for me represents that nostalgic feeling when you look back at your past when everything was okay. When you had no troubles, when you were naive, when you had all the time in the world but you didnt know this it. You didnt know this would be the best part of your life. And now everything is gone.

And it reminds me that such a time may come back if you work on yourself and learn to appreciate things before they are gone.

Is it just me or am I the only one who actually LIKES the opening of Tokyo Ghoul 2nd season..? It just has a unconventional time signature with loads of modulation... People dislike what they aren't used to i think xD

I love this ending, this anime. People may call it trash just because it's popular, because it's well known. But they don't understand. Tokyo Ghoul for me, is much better than Attack on Titan, although I love Levi-heichou and the setting and idea of AOT, but in this, you just support the humans, u know the titans are not good (even though they are also human, but whatever)
Tokyo Ghoul, u just don't know who's side you're on. You hate and love both sides. They're both right and yet both wrong. It really brings out the ugliness of humans.
Now that I think about it, this is reminding me of Code Geass...
