Former Democrat Tulsi Gabbard announces shift to Republican Party at Trump Rally

Tulsi Gabbard, a former Democratic congresswoman from Hawaii, has announced she’s joining the Republican Party.

Gabbard joined former President Donald Trump at a rally in Greensboro, North Carolina.

She took the stage with the Republican presidential hopeful to make the announcement, and was met with cheers from the crowd.

"The GOP is the party of the people, the party of equality, the party that was founded to fight against and end slavery in this country, and is the party of common sense, led by a president who has the courage and strength to fight for peace," she said.

Gabbard announced in October 2022 that she was leaving the Democratic Party and would register as an independent.

She ran for president as a Democrat in 2020 and endorsed Joe Biden after ending her campaign.
