A quick comparison of the Telefunken TF51 and The Warm Audio WA-251 on vocals.

Wow! Hey man, great voice! Really nice. The Warm, actually sound beautiful. That TF51, is a monster, but the warm holds it's own. I'd go for the warm if I couldn't afford the TF51.

I would prefer the TF51. Top end sounded better to my ears. But the WA 251 sounded good too. Great singing BTW

Not sure if it's just a better performance or the mic, but the Warm 251 sounds saucy. Plus there seems to be more emotion caught on the take with the Warm mic as well. I dig your vocal tone, keep at it!

The TF sounds much more in the mix pocket cause that low mid bump sound with the WA251. The TF51 sounds more mix ready...

Both mics sound great, the 251 has a higher perceived loudness though, probably with the higher and lower frequencies coming through more.
I liked the sound of the TF51, I get the impression it’ll handle EQ better.

After the disclaimer about your singing, I had rather low expectations... which you emphatically crushed. Very, very good singing, tasteful, and excellent dynamic control. BRAVO!
I like both microphones. I may have to get a TF51 simply because it's a Telefunken within a poor(?) man's reach. I have a WA251.
The WA has a brighter top end, but not harsh at all. Its pedigree is established, BTW: Dolly Parton used a WA251 on a duet with Olivia Newton John. One simply cannot argue with that.

nice shoot out! For me it was clearly the TF51. What was the vocal chain used?

The TF51 definitely has a narrower cardioid pattern and picked up less "room", which I prefer. The bottom on the Warm was a little nicer but something in the upper midrange was a little unpleasant. Nice singing!
