Convert ANY Planetary Freecoaster To Cassette!

How to EASILY convert any planetary freecoaster to a cassette with components you might have around or that can be bought for much less than buying a new cassette hub.
This process can be done in literally 2 minutes but there are some considerations to make in terms of hub drag. This is covered in the video and the solution doesn't require any extra pieces or parts!

just get the hybrid freecoaster, works like a freecoaster with slack but without the clutch and turns into a cassette with the springs already provided. Plus it's a lot cheaper than the planetary stuff

Nice coverage, Brant. I was fooling around with some springs and discovered this a while back but never put the driver back in to test it. At least I know it works now and (hopefully) won't damage anything. I might try it for a week or two to satisfy my curiosity.

awesome. I really wonder if the hybrid clutch would also work in the planetary so you have a tri-mode hub, planetary, regular fc and cassette modes. And if you can convert your wtp hybrid into planetary with a planetary clutch (and planetary pawls and springs)

Dont take out the clutch, i did it on my hybrid coaster and the pawls can fall off the driver and roll around inside your hub

Now solve my question 🤣 since you are using parts from my wtp hybrid, can I swap parts from the alienation planetary into my hybrid to see if I like planetary without having to buy a planetary ?

I didn't understand why it's called a planetary. There's no planetary gears in the mechanism. Am I i missing something?

That's not a cassette. A cassette has a replaceable sprocket with splines and a lock nut
