As much as I love these exegetical analysis of linguistic nuances because they give us deeper insight into the mind of God and what the writers of the Bible were actually communicating, I find that all too often they end up being just that; an analysis of words. It leaves the audience wondering, what is the practical approach after knowing this truth? For example,
1. what are we turning away from towards?
2. Why was John, even before our Lord crying out to his listeners to repent, because the kingdom was at hand?
For centuries we have thought this to be away from sin, but as succinct as your video is, it makes quite a remarkable claim (one that could have had your head rolling literally 😄). It seems from what you are saying, the essence of repentance is not only from a thing but towards another; both are relevant. Trust me, there are many who would want to know "if not from sin then towards what?"....I'm curious
