Mini Brake Pad Warning Light Reset

This is how to reset the brake pad warning light on a Mini. This is a 2016 model, but as long as you’ve got the same dashboard it should work for you.

Thank you so Been driving around with that stupid warning for 6 months now. Garage said they can't reset it without fitting new brakes which would cost a fortune and wasn't needed (had them checked).

I also had the “reset unsuccessful” message and found if you carry out the instructions on the video with electronic handbrake in off position (no L.E.D on the button) it will reset. It’s also good practice to check your wiring is in properly and secure.

Does the car have to be in Neutral in order to perform the reset?
I have tried it while being in Park and the result was reset unsuccessful.

Is this a warning from brake wear sensor or just a set milage to go off?

Hiya, I’ve had the pads and sensor replaced and the reset option just doesn’t appear on the dash and the mechanic tried clearing the code on the diagnostic machine and that didn’t work either.. anyone have any ideas on what to do? Like do I need a combination of brake pushed in and pushing the button? I have a 2017 cooper countryman - thanks!

Does anyone know the interval for this to trigger? 100, 000 km/ miles for example. I suspect it is premature on our mini and we can get much more mileage from our current brake set.

Ok so tryna fix this for my sister the guy told her it was a fuse that needed to be replaced. He had done the reset multiple times and it didnt work. So i need to know which fuse it is. Anyone know?
