Please don’t be that person who uses essential oils and perfume in a packed aeroplane - you don’t know who has allergies around you. It’s common courtesy in a packed space. :)

Compression socks are the best for long flights!  I won't go on an overseas trip without them at this point...  avoid blood clots, but more importantly, your feet won't swell.

I'm the opposite of a nervous flyer. My reasoning is, not matter what you do or can do, if the plane is going to crash, it's going to crash. You can't prevent or change that. So being worried and nervous is completely pointless.

If you have an iPhone have your boarding pass sent to your phone or emailed and select “add to wallet” and your pass pops up on your lock screen when it’s an hour before your boarding

As a working flight attendant, I'd like to say thank you for this. A lot of these "hacks" are things we do on a daily basis. Most of this is very good, there are a few issues, though. 1, Personal liquor is a NO NO. It's against the law in the United States. Don't even try. The consequences can be very severe; 2, While it may be less expensive to purchase WiFi in advance you may run into an issue where the WiFi is out of service. Be sure to know how to get a refund; 3, If the TSA does call you out on bringing too much to security, be prepared to toss some of the less essential items so your items do fit the quart sized bag. Don't try to argue with them. They always win. Anyway, for all your followers, enjoy your flights and this big beautiful wide world.

Don’t take a pillow case, take a scarf. You can wrap it around your coat for your pillow or sometimes I tie it around my headrest and just use it as a head hammock to sleep

Very helpful however i advise against the essential oils. Or at least just use them prior to your flight if you have to use them. A lot of people have scent sensitivities. There is nothing worse than being stuck in a tube, filled with recirculated air and having someone use a scented product that ends up giving you a headache or a worse reaction. So while it may help you relax it could potentially put someone else in agony for hours.

Is you have Netflix. Download the app and you can load plenty of shows/movies in advance and can be watched off line.

Good hydration is a must. Alcohol dehydrated you. So avoid drinking alcohol will help circulation, headaches, jet lag, stuffy sinuses. Water, water, Water! Also avoid caffeine.

When I was a travel agent a lot of times when people were flying from say NYC to LAX they would have a choice to connect in either Chicago or Dallas. If they were travelling in the winter, I always suggested going through Dallas. It might seem obvious, but I was shocked that most people didn't think of this themselves. Dallas isn't as likely to have heavy snow and blizzards in the winter, so it was worth it not to risk a canceled flight or delays. No guarantees, but better chances.

1:33 this only works if you’re on a non-discount airline that occasionally flies with a less than full plane. On Southwest, Ryanair, et. al., the plane will always be full or they would never be profitable. I fly Southwest often and it’s bad enough to be stuck with a middle seat, but then when I get there, I find a couple that has selected the Aisle and window seat and placed their personal belongings in the middle seat to discourage anyone else from sitting there. Ahem, cough, sir and/or madam, that’s actually my seat, and if I could sit in it that would be greatly appreciated. Now if you want to sit together that’s totally fine, and I’m more than happy to switch seats with someone. but don’t roll your eyes and huff and puff at me for wanting to sit in the seat that I paid for and thus foil your ingenious plan to get an extra seat for free.

I started going carry-on only about 4 years ago and I've never looked back! It relieves so much stress not having to check a bag and saves me so much time!

The best travel hack is to be considerate of the other 100 + people traveling with you and understand that this is not your plane to do anything you want. Dont take up too much room, accept what they give you to eat, drink etc. and dont be demanding. Look after yourself.

The isle armrest! I try to tell everybody this on the flight. It helps to just get in and out of the Seats. I discovered this a couple years ago when I was bored. Sometimes it's a lever toward the back of the armrest. This is especially helpful when traveling with kids and all the extra bags. Great video!

Take a handful of those tiny alcohol wipes that are usually used in hospitals. Wipe down that tray table and perhaps the arm rests. The tray tables are a germ magnet- people put used tissues on it.

Miles and points are the best kind of rabbit hole to get stuck into. Especially when you get into the more advanced tricks :

Like the idea of booking a round trip award ticket with United on Swiss from say Paris to Geneva and back just so you can use their obscure "Excursionist Perk" to get a free flight between those dates from say Cape Town to Accra, Ghana. Just have to leave a big enough gap in your schedule to nest in that African flight

16, 000 United miles and $80 to fly round trip in Europe and get a free $400 flight across Africa is a win win IMO

Omg I LOVE the idea of making flight info your lock screen! That's so clever and something I would've never thought of

How about a video on your fav airlines especially here in Canada/North America...I haven't flown in 10 years so I'm sure things have changed.I'd also bring some cozy socks for an overnight or long haul flight and a pair of noise cancelling headphones. Thanks Kristen!
