I am a server admin and I can tell you we have LAMINAR FLOW in the form of hUuUuUuUge amounts of data constantly and beautifully flowing in at all hours of the day.

When you finish getting your data into that server, take those loose drives you have and put them in another location. Off-site storage protects you from fire, flood, theft, etc.
