PPG, thank you so much for understanding my short break from YT! I am so glad to be back to watching and so happy to see you!! Oh so sorry you had such a struggle with the brassicas!! I love that you've added onion to the bed too! My fingers are crossed it all goes well for your new seedlings!! The umbrella is a great idea!! Perfect shade!! Praying all goes well for them all!! All the best to you, my wonderful friend!!💖

The flea beetles are terrible up in your garden. Hope you can get them under control. Thanks for the update.

We too are heading into the mid 30 temps for about 5-7 days. My snap peas, which should totally be happy campers in June/early July ….have given up without a single pea. We’ve had already 4 days above 30 this year and the norm would be 1 day over 30 for the year! We will add another 7 or so in the next 10 days which is beyond any record that I’m aware of.🤔 if this trend keeps going, I might actually be able to ripen a pepper this year. Aside from tomato plants though, I’m not sure what will grow in this new hotter season we’re having. I sure hope those brassica plants hold up ok for ya! From what I understand, our neighbours in Saskatchewan are in for the same heat that we’re going to have.

It frustrates me when i loose a plant that i have grown from seed. I look up into the sky, take a deep breathe and say at the top of my voice, " Bloody Bugs )then i tell myself Bugs have to eat too and life will go on.. Makes me feel better anyway. Everything will come out in the wash.. Our gardens will survive.. You'll be fine girl..

So sorry to hear about your brassicas and the flea beetles . I really hope the new ones survive. I've had most of my onions destroyed this year. I did not put a net on as I used to and the onion flys have lied their eggs……..🤮
We get a few punches in the face somethimes.

That's horrible, hope the new plantings do better. I don't have flea beetles here, I'm just lucky they didn't find me. I had leaf minors last year, but I harvested the chard that over wintered in spring and I've not put new plants out yet. Late summer will tell if the new plants get attacked.

Have you tried powder by captain Jack's dead bug Brew for organic gardens? I don't have Beatles but seems helpful with keeping cucumber beetles under control. Just a thought.

I can never seem to control flea beetles so no advice from me I'm afraid PPG.
Hope it works out okay for you.

What type of netting is that? Having a terrible time with cabbage moth butterflies getting through my netting.
