I've taken your Lizard Brain course. Very cool! It helped me to understand why I am scared of some stuff. Especially now when I am applying for a new job now. It is scary af for me... a lot of new stuff, new people, not knowing what they will ask me.. etc. Thanks a lot. :)

True. And it's not necessarily fear of code, but fear of other aspects of life, like becoming homeless. Anxiety associated with poverty is shown to temporarily lower IQ by at least one deviation. Again, the Lizard King rules.

The heaviest burdens that we carry are the thoughts in our head.

Not fear, just boredom and getting fed up with overcomplicated.

I've been pondering learning this coding stuff, but I'm 48, and the idea of starting a new discipline really causes me anxiety. I'm so broke, I don't have a computer. Uber is not paying my bills, and after 21 years of being employed, starting over in unknown territory is unsettling. I don't want to work for anyone that has the power to fire me again! The thought of eating a bullet seems more pragmatic at this time...

Here I thought that was a dig on modern Windows at first. Lol

I'm 56, no job, no retirement, blah blah blah and I'm not very good at math. Can I still learn to code? How does one figure out which direction to go?

I might add buy the book "the naked ape" from Desmond Morris - As per additional recommendation from Stefan in one of his past videos. Regards.

FEAR! Fear of not being able to understand it, and fear of breaking stuff.

About your courses is it better to start with just a beginner course like HTML5 PRO or take a package like Complete Web Designer (I'm new to coding and want to start learning)

I’d like to sign up for a couple of courses and change my life I’m just not sure which class(es) to take. Do I go for web development or coding?? Help!

Stefan, there seems to be a prevalence in coding boot-camps to emphasize the ability to "pair-program" and "talk-through" your code while you are "coding". I myself, like to work on things in a "solitary way non verbal". If I'm not talker/coder am I doomed? Seems like some of us are better at this than others...maybe it's just a matter of practice....it seems so unnatural. Plus you have the added stress of someone "judging" you while you are trying to solve a problem.

The point about Lizard was exellent but the video stopped too soon. I would have listened to more.

having mental health problems myself __ some days i find myself believing nothing at all and at best i can do is probably my 15-20% __ whereas other days i keep coding and care only about the process:::improving working skills having fun etc. i would say that if someone is struggling for various reasons __ mental health also could be a factor since it's so common in this era. the most people aren't even aware of __ (more likely). in my opinion _ key is to find where all the mentioned fear/factors are coming from and then dealing with them as they come up.

Wish everyone the best ***
