Awesome content! My first homestead was $10, 000. I did it on a musicians salary.

I'm sure you have good content, but with the sound quality in your room I have a hard time listening, it's pretty harsh with echoes

Gosh the farm i leased out....they never wanted to mend a fence, pick up trash or clean up the barn after their horses. Never again will i lease out my farmland. There's something that doesn't sit right with me about horse loving people. went from 5 strands of barb-wire to one or two strands in many places. The one sagging strand left was fixed up with a coat hanger, better repairs from a 10 year old. Picked up 4, 500. aluminum beer can and bottles and plastic bottles. Found where they took out three structural floor and roof support beams in the barn. ..and the thing i'll never forget....where there was a horse window in the barn....they cut a second square hole up higher 18" from the first window...making a new window for their horse who's head was now up into the floor joints. They let their prized horse eat, sleep and live in it's own crap for 7 years.
Even when I supplied the material cost...they built the fence at 16 foot centers on t-posts. Had to go back last year and add an extra t-post making it 8 foot centers...and restrung all the barb wire correctly adding a 5th wire. Yeah, it's not about paying for parts it's about overseeing the work too....you can get some shoddy work done. and if they need a stud or two for a horse divider wall they'll take out one or two the the supporting floor joist beams instead. Really handy to improvise. I almost lost the entire 2nd floor and part of the back roof. I jacked and put in 6 new beams.
My biggest learning lesson from leasing DO NOT do anyone a FAVOR leasing your land out at 25 to 50 cent on the dollar to BE the Nice Guy....what you end up with is the worst disrespecting people, disrespecting land... that will litter and trash your farm!!! Take it from me...been there...done that. Get references, check them thoroughly...and place in the land lease agreement...revoking the lease if you find more than 50 aluminum cans, glass bottles or plastic bottles on the land. I had sofa sleepers, recliners, soil diapers, mattresses, 300 pallets, ovens, washers, dryers, two old boats all rotting outside. The worst were the broken glass doors and glass mirrors...picking up glass for years! People thick just because they're leasing it's a good place to store all there junk instead of taking it to the dump. ok, i vented...when you lease lease for 100% to 120% the going rate....do not lease at 30%. There's a good reason why they're not land barrons....they disrespect the land throwing diaper sand beer bottles on the land.

I was wondering if you could do a video for folks concerned with food shortages. Maybe teach us what to grow with limited space that will store well and feed our families over time. It would be helpful for some of us in cities and suburbs. Maybe everyone.

That is a great idea...filing a F irs tax form for any little plot of land...even in your back yard. And get the Farm-timber tax exemption.
