Not gonna lie.. This music video is cool and all.. I mean, minus the whole anti-men shtick. Not to sound pretentious or judgy, but.. I'm for real equality, ya know? Like where women and men are actually equal, and neither are made to look idiotic or flat out stupid in an ill intent sorta way to put an entire gender down for some political/cultural gain or brownie points.. if that even makes any sense. If that's not what you're going for lately then my apologies, but I guess art at the end of the day is subjective. And at the very least, you can't deny that there's been very much an anti-man/masculinity narrative pushed in society these days. Don't get me wrong, that's not to say that I'm in favor of assholery on a dudes part either lol. I just.. I guess I just want everyone to stop hating one another over natural, immutable characteristics, whether it be race, gender, whatever the fuck.. Apologies, there is a point to this.. Which is.. Emily.. What gives? Are you ashamed or something of your actual first album? The album Director's Note's is absolutely in my like top 10 albums of ALL time. I can't even count how many times it's helped me get over the many straight up shit ass instances of life we all go through from time to time. Damn, it's probably even top 5 for me. Yet.. you can't find or listen to it just about anywhere. It's almost as if it's been flat out scrubbed from the internet..
I love your harder, more "rock n roll-y" type stuff, sure, but.. Man.. That acoustic, slower, almost melancholic sound and lyrics is.. Dude I'll be straight up with you, shit is absolute melodic crack for your earholes lol. Why then would you completely eradicate from the web some of your best work? Is there some sort of legal issue going on as far as being able to put it out there for the masses? That's really is the only explanation I can think of, is that you yourself just simply didn't approve of it? I apologize for putting you on blast like this, though this info is already public knowledge and has been for some time, but I do know that you use to be an alcoholic during that time frame. I'm not judging at all, dude. I'm currently one myself atm. My car was recently stolen because my drunken self left unlocked along with leaving my keyfob in it as well (push to start), the next morning? Gone. 🤦🏼‍♂️ Sighh..
My grandma died a week after that.
And then shortly after that, I lost my job.
This whole entire past year has been one cataclysmic happenstance after another. So I get it, man. Life can suck fuckin ass from time to time.. But your music... mainly your first few projects, not only spoke to me on a level far above and beyond 99% of all other music, but continues to this day to each into my soul and make me feel alive and well if only for a brief few minutes. Hell, I'll take anything I can get nowadays. And it really is hard to find music that can touch your soul on that level.
Granted you probably won't ever see or read this, but if you do happen to stumble upon this comment some day, please... Please, if you have the ability to do so, please re-release your older stuff. Because I had to dig pretty dang deep to find it. And then I had to screen record the audio.. Like, it was kind of ridiculous. Maybe I'm just not tech savvy enough or whatever to find/figure it out. Maybe it is available still and I just don't know what the hell I'm doing, but if I'm correct.. Please re-release! And make another slow album too?? 😁😁😁😔😔😔😔😔😔😔😔
