My first SLR was an Olympus (about 1999), i don't care what is inside of this new model, i'm sure that the final product will be GREAT. I don't know why people are crazy about the specs these day, just get the camera and make you photos. Well done Olympus, well done.

Rob trek has a YouTube channel and his videos are awesome! He only uses Olympus cameras and it helps a lot of Olympus users to get the best out of the cameras. He's a great photographer and and amazing person. It would be awesome if he could test an e-m1x !👍

Beautiful Camera with Great Autofocus system. How about iso performance 12800-25600 ? Cause wildlife or sport photo may need that's iso.

I had hands on here in Sweden with the E-M1X yesterday (2019-02-13) for about 30 minutes. We'll see what Olympus can make of the AF system, if they can add more motives for, what I consider more common and useful subjects, humans, wild life, birds etc. If they can do this, and do it soon, it will be a very capable camera. I could only try it with some pretty slow moving cars but with that it looked good. The camera identifies the subject very quickly and most of the time keeps tracking it. Looked like most shots were in focus as well at 10 fps mechanical and 18 fps electronic. It was a very busy environment. EVF and display are already well known, same same more or less though a bit bigger EVF magnification. It's not a bad EVF, never has been, but it's not up to the competition as far as resolution goes. It does however, unlike the current high res EVF's, stay the same even if the light drops significantly. To be honest, I really wanted a high res viewfinder for this, but... I'm not sure now, I rather have the smooth speed in both good and bad light. @Tomer Weiss does indeed have a good point here as per our friendly discussion the past few days. As far as the EVF being pixelated or "the worst EVF ever", don't pay any attention to it. Stupid comments from people who are either fan boys of some other brand, or payed to bad mouth other brands.

Display is also the same as before, not bad, not great with todays standards. I think Olympus could've updated the function of it if nothing else. Fuji has added some multi touch funtionality as well as motion recognition such as swype up for one quick funtion, down for another and that could help quick settings I think. I still find the AF Pad on display to be slow compared to other makes such as Panasonic but no big deal with the E-M1X because the joysticks are simply superb. They change the AF point really quick and they work in the diagonal. The joysticks and buttons have a more tactile feel, very nice. Over all the body, as expected, feels superb, great size in my opinion. It is no where NEAR as large or heavy as people think it is. It's not like a Nikon D5 or Canon 1DX, that's like comparing sumo wrestlers with a kung fu master. It feels much smaller than the specs seem to indicate, much of it is most likely down it being much thinner than those larger cameras.

Menus, changing settings (aperture, shutter speed, iso etc) is slightly faster, it feels more direct now, something I have been missing on all other Olympus bodys, there's just been this very very slight delay when changing aperture for example and that is gone now. I wish Olympus would overhaul their user interface though, the large yellow text and over all look is starting to feel quite old compared to the competition. It's functional, no doubt about it, just a little dated.

For most people, in my opinion, the E-M1 Mk II will be a better choice, you get 95% of the camera for less than half the price, that money between can almost buy you a 12-40 and 40-150 + TC or buy you a 300mm F4. As far as weather sealing goes, the E-M1 Mk II is already the best of all cameras out there. If my E-M1 Mk II was to die, for some reason, I would most likely go for the E-M1X, specially if they can add more deep learning motives to it but I don't feel the need to add one, I'd rather spend the 3500 euroes on lenses and equipment to help my wild life shooting (dry suit, photo hide etc).

I own an EM1X on june 2019 and, to date, I don't understand why it costs so much more than an new Em1 III. Ergonomics, battery grip, 2 same performance slot cards are not enough to justify the price difference. All the features of the Em1X have been included in the Em1 III, what sense does it make to buy an Em1x? But above all ... what is the dual processor for? (at the moment same performance or less than the Em1 III…). One years later and no upgrade firmware… I think all of this is wrong for Em1X customers... You should give some info for a camera bought different money.
