The reason to unhook the belt is to convert to a fanny pack.
Also if you’re not finding the slide easy to use, it might be set up backwards for how you carry it. It works best if you set up the ends so that the slide goes between your personal longest and shortest settings. Then it’s pretty smooth.

Does this sling flatten when removing the inserts? I am looking for a replacement of my Lowepro sling passport that does fold into my suitcase and cannot find anything.

Strap. You didn’t mention the easy to use strap length adjuster. Neither did you talk about the hook part that you didn’t like, is used for converting the bag to wear round your waist. But still like your overall reviews.

Going back from more resents videos I am impressed with the amount of detail covered. The warts and all and not forgetting alternative view points on the same item. The consistency of style across those that I have seen. The who it is for and who it isn't. At the same time the reviews are entertaining and very watchable.
