One of the greatest video game music love themes of all time: Tifa's Theme from the legendary classic Final Fantasy 7 reimagined here in a Jazz waltz style featuring the truly incredible Chloe Rowlands on the Flugelhorn.

This beautiful theme encapsulates all of the emotion and feeling that video game music has to offer, and as soon as I wrote it I knew I wanted to feature Chloe's amazingly sensitive and dexterous playing to bring new life to this classic melody. Hope you enjoy!

High school band director here. If you make these arrangements available for purchase you will sell more charts than Gordon Goodwin. We easily have a dozen Goodwin charts in our library and would purchase yours as well! I am certain there are legions of band directors who are in the same boat!

When I was a child, “video game music” meant the defeat theme from Space Invaders.
These days, it is a sprawling field with a plethora of talented composers and musicians.
For some reason, this brings me so much joy. 🎉

This gives me chills. Hopefully we'll see more FF7 music in the future.

You know, for a long time I thought Tifa’s theme would’ve sounded better with more energy, which I equated to being a little quicker with a different feel. I actually finished up a bossa nova version of it not too long ago to achieve this. But just like always you blow all of my preconceptions out of the water. You kept the piece slower but injected so much feel into it that it’s almost a completely different tune. I think I realize now that “energy” and tempo/feel are completely different too. Thank you so much, 8BBB, you all continue to inspire me to be a better musician.

I’m only two minutes in and I’m actually in tears. A composition hasn’t affected me like this since… your Pollyanna cover, actually. You guys are killing it over there!

I have to say, this waltz version is so romantic. If a band started playing something based on this rendition in a wedding, no one would find it weird.

Man, I’ve always believed that VGM is good, but the fact that some of the best musicians in the world think that it’s good enough to reinterpret and perform at such an incredibly high level is so validating. It’s like you’re grabbing the musical establishment by the shoulders and shaking them and saying PAY ATTENTION and then showing them everything I liked as a child, and it hits me in the feels in a way I wasn’t prepared for.

Chloe's got such a warm tone. Perfect for Tifa's theme.

The whole arrangement is absolutely lovely, but it's incredible how at 0:55 just a few notes can instantly make me smile and tear up a little bit. God I love video game music. So many tunes that can take me right back to so many incredible stories and fond memories. Epic battles, shocking twists, tender moments, lovable characters, devastating losses, and on and on.

That really brought a lot of "Eyes on Me" feel out in the song occationally it almost sounded like a medley.

Love that you pulled from the “Square Enix Jazz” arrangement and infused some of that!

VGM is so magical, and you guys are so insane, that I haven't played a single Final Fantasy game in my life, and somehow a felt so touched hearing this, and feeling nostalgia for something I don't even Know :')

There's something much more introspective and frankly, "grown up" about this latest slate of arrangements. This, like "Song of Storms" have a very relaxed, on the backbeat drift that are just quietly fantastic.

Also - Chloe is sublime here, floating through the melody with the effortless grace of a bird. This group of featured soloists have been a real coup for all of us.
