It is said 'play is the work of childhood'. Welcome to the Play Series, where we cover not just why play is important for child development, but how to teach the many different types of play to children with autism.

* Due to Covid-19 restrictions at time of filming, neurotypical children of our EAP team were filmed in their home.

This an excellent video/ resource! I love how you explain so effectively the importance of play and how it contributes to adult life. I am working with a child with ASD and we have moved from lining up toys and tipping out things from boxes. I am a play partner and follow his interests through interaction and considered use of toys/ resources that engage and hold his focus. It's very rewarding!
