It's designed for 'Ethylene glycol' coolant. DEX is NOT a 'Ethylene glycol' coolant. DEX-COOL is created out of a combination of different phosphates and silicates as well as the organic acid technology itself.

Does it check for acidic levels in Dexcool? That lets you know when it needs changed.

after you suck out coolant from resevoir, is it ok to pour it back? dirt
or little particles from the tester will be filtered out so it's ok to
pour it back?

You shouldn't keep the nozzle in your car reservoir while you testing you have to put it back beside the tester for good test

oh I hope no one listened to this guy and took out some Dex cool and added water. that will start to rust and decay your engine from the inside out. don't mix dexcool with any thing. NEVER DILUTE IT!!!
