I cannot begin to say how thankful I am for this series! I was first introduced to the ideas of Calvinism when I was in high school. I wrestled with it then, and thought I was ok, but it wasn’t until I listened to McArthur’s Grace to You Ministry that I realized that the ideas had a hold on me and my faith was shaken. I reached out to my pastor, but he was no help. I spoke with a few godly friends, but I just couldn’t make sense of it. The problem: If Calvinism was true, then the God I had been raised to love, the God of Love, was no loving God at all! What loving God would purposely withhold the ability to believe in Him from some people and then punish them eternally for rejecting Him? That’s not a loving God!!! How could I serve and tell others about a God like that, with the knowledge that many of them would die in their sins anyway because God predestined them to do so? It wasn’t logical. It didn’t seem just or loving, or hopeful. Was I just supposed to be okay with my sister being chosen to wrath or even my child, all for the glory of God?! I could not stomach it. And I was afraid, that if the god of Calvinism was true, I might leave my faith all together. It was truly a dark night for my soul, as I anguished over the dilemma. But praise God, I did not give up! I searched the Scriptures and found that the god of Calvinism is not the God of the Bible! God offers salvation to ALL who put their faith in Jesus Christ! Thank you for laying it all out so clearly. It is good for me to be reminded. I pray that these videos will help others to see that the God of the Bible truly is a God of Love! ❤

Great series! When I first heard about Calvinism and TULIP I immediately thought how it completely turns the Good New upside down. The idea that God only loves some is totally antithetical to the Gospel. How is it good news if only a few select people are programmed to accept God and the rest are denied the ability to even make the decision to accept Him? That is bad news in my opinion.
Also, how can a person love God if God controls everything that they do? That's not the kind of love that scripture talks about.

The point about Paul having to have a wrong theology and love Israel more than God does if Calvinism is true - may be one of the underrated points I haven't used yet. Great point! Why would Paul be arguing his love for Israel even to his own condemnation if God didn't even want them?

Wow. I’ve never heard the perspective Paul Washer has on Jacob and Esau. Talk about reading into the text! Makes absolutely no sense if you take chapter 9 in context.

Hey brother this series is on another level, thank you! I am not a Calvinist, and what you've put together lays to rest this false doctrine. I've shared your videos with my Dad and it's been a real blessing to us. I do want to ask one question concerning Romans 9: I hear from fellow non Calvinists that Romans 9 is never about salvation, and please correct me if I'm wrong here and you've addressed this already, but doesn't Paul's line in Romans 9:3 show that this is an issue of Israel's current status of being accursed (ie doomed for destruction) and hence this is at least to some extent about salvation? It seems like this is the main premise that builds up towards the rest of Paul's thesis. All of that to say that I 100% see how the ultimate point is that it's always been God choosing those who have faith, but I'd love to get your or anyone else's thoughts on that. Thanks and God bless

Thanks again, Jason! I've shared your Calvinism series with some friends. They have enjoyed them. A couple of days ago John Piper was featured on the verse of the day Bible app video if you didn't know. One of these friends of mine noticed the way he interpreted Romans 8:28-29 and spotted this different (Calvinistic) incorrect interpretation of that text and so she brought it up to our group text. I then went and watched the video myself. My friend was totally spot on catching Piper's Calvinistic interpretation! Wow, thank you for allowing the Lord to use you to help and teach others in the body of Christ and point them to the truth of God's clear Word, right teaching, and confidence in our Lord's genuine love. To call us to be good Bereans always! Your work is not in vain, my brother! One thing she also did say is that she appreciates how loving you are in your speech and approach and how you strive to be non-divisive even as you speak truth in love!! Blessings, my brother.
