I sold off my INTC and AMD positions during the August selloff in order to add to some other positions where the stock price was down and likely wouldn't stay that way for long. I'm on the fence on whether to sell or add to my QCOM position. The things that's stopping me, as with AVGO, is that it seems like a good dividend investment. I may keep both, but they won't be very large.

@parkev What's your take on SMCI? Is there delisting risk?

No way intel is going to sell their chip design😂 this is insane. Intel is famous for chip design, why it would cut its own hands? I believe Intel has a plan for the long term. No need to cut its hands for survive!

I think Intel will not sell the only part of the business that can take it out from this mess

It makes no sense for Intel to sell its chip design business. The more likely scenario is that Intel would sell the PC reference design business to QCOM just like they sold the server reference design business to MITAC last year. Press is confused!

I suspect Intel Foundry would be better off as a freestanding business to keep it "do or die focused" on customers.

The government subsidies of Intel via grants and loans may be sub-optimal as Ben Thompson stated in "Intel Honesty". He argues guaranteed purchases of various processors at certain prices would be better as it would give Intel Foundry "something to strive for". Any thoughts here?

The 11 billion in plant property and equipment is not producing cash now, but it will be in the new year. In the future, their foundry business will pay for plant property and equipment and then some. This is an investment. Their fab space will get 100% bought up when they have advanced node available. The wait for space at TSMC and Samsung all but guarantees this. Anyone who think supply won’t get taken up by demand because some unkempt dude name Steve with a YouTube channel says so can get screwed.

VanEck just started a new semiconductor fund Aug 27 (SMHX). Nvidia AMD and Qualcomm are part of the top 10 holdings. Might wanna do some research on it.

Will consider adding Qualcomm at the current price point .. which i think it's a good entry after its recent pullback.

Intel has some remaining edge in the PC market, now they are selling part of it to new potential competitor, no wonder it's finding new bottom every week 😂😂

I work with Intel many years, this company is full of BS

No matter who is going to buy Intel foundry, it can't be profitable. Even TSMC is the same. Because they can't find enough dedicating and hard workers in US. Boeing is an example...
