We are planning to move from Washington state to Alabama for retirement. Our main drivers were cost of living and family in the area. We did take the possibility of tornadoes into account and will plan on a storm shelter just in case. We are at a high elevation in Washington so we get a significant amount of snow every year and that has become hard for us to manage.
