So very glad that Prince Phillip prevailed in getting the coronation televised. Also, moving his MIL out of Buckingham Palace was also an excellent move.

The old Queen seemed to have difficulty stepping back and allowing her daughter to shine. Queen Elizabeth 11 was fortunate to have the strength of the Duke beside her. A strong mother and a flighty younger sister must have been an immense trial for the young Queen, which she managed unbelievably well.

The Queen Mother was very bossy. She wanted a continuation of her own time of being Queen . She had a hard time letting go. Queen Elizabeth did a great job during her time as Queen. Prince Phillip was trying to do the right thing. But always keep in mind they both had Elizabeth’s best interest at heart. And sons in law and mothers in law often clash. It’s just the way it is.

Phillip was a mature intelligent man and Elizabeth was truly taken with him. Strength of character got him through each day of his royal life.

Prince Philip was a brilliant man with a great sense of humour.
The Queen Mother was far from the sweet little lady she was made out to be. I've always thought her to be a manipulative woman who liked her own way.

There’s not a “royal” bone in MegaFraud’s body, nor is there anything “royal” about her.

A more supportive person than the Queen Mother would have bowed out gracefully and allowed her daughter to get on with the job. She was, after all, only the consort. She had had her day. Does anyone think Harry might have inherited some of his less likeable traits from his great grandma?

The " kind, sweet " Queen Mother 😂 was actually made of steel who didn't intend to let PP take over. Everyday she phoned her daughter with advice.

If Queen Elizabeth II coronation hadn't been filmed for television, many of us would not have ever seen it.

Prince Philip was very forward thinking. What a wonderful idea to have the Queen's Coronation televised. He truly helped modernize the monarchy. Thanks, Neil, for another behind-the-scenes story about the RF!

Never before noticed how much Prince William looks like Prince Phillip.

My Dad was not a huge royal fan. He wasn't exactly anti either, just not as enthusiastic as the rest of us.
However, he adored Prince Philip. He met him a couple of times and the second time, the Prince recognised him.

Even the royal family has/had mother-in-law issues.

I think the Queen Mother has a lot of influence over Queen Elizabeth. I always felt that our late Queen became a little more relaxed after her mother’s passing.

Prince Philip was the Queens rock through difficult times. He helped the Queen to laugh. Her role as monarch was challenging and time consuming. What an influencer.

So glad that the 1953 Coronation was televised. The Duke of Edinburgh picked his battles well

My Mom watched the Coronation on TV, and would talk about how starstruck everyone was with the new Queen. She always said she's was such a young girl, and beautiful. I heard it many times. She had never seen anything like it, the pomp and display of the Royal Family. She never forgot it, and absolutely loved Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip. She said the Royal Family were steadfast during WW2, supported their people, and most importantly stayed with their people. She always admired them, so here I am having grown up with hearing about them for years. Cheers!👋👋😁

Prince Philip & the Queen Mother were two strong people & they were bound to have clashes of personality.
