Researchers at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and Army’s Robotic & Autonomous Implementation & Coordination Office (RICO) teamed up and demonstrated a brain to robot interface at the Majura Training Area, Canberra, on Wednesday, 11 May 2022. SGT Chandan Rana had a selection of commands projected onto the augmented reality lens.

When sighted, the resulting brainwaves were interpreted by the UTS technology, which sent commands to the Ghost Robotics quadruped robot.

This allowed the operator to maintain weapon readiness or use their hands for other tasks.

The purpose of the demonstration was to explore the potential of this technology for use in a tactical environment. Defence has provided $1.2 million of research funding to UTS through the Defence Innovation Hub.

We don’t have enough energy though in our country’s power grid to charge it 🤦🏻

I like the idea of using MotoCross Bikes to move around scouting or attacking . The quick erratic movement and speed could be a good weapon

aside from the 'brain to robot' thing,
what does this weird, slow dog looking thing do that a flying drone or a tracked RC vehicle can't?
seems like a lot of money for a fraction of the capabilities,
what am i missing here?

You got to use whatever you have to do your jobs I 'am no expert nor have military background so I support our defense forces . That robot is one feaky looking machine lol no offense it goes to show how technology is getting high tech.
