I am glad that Colin Firth decided to change his mind to do this series. However, once he thought it over, he didn't want someone else to take this role so he decided to do "Pride and Prejudice" which became the best series back in 1995. How fortunate for all of us he did change his mind.

A great mini-series. All the actors put in fine performances. But the chemistry between Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle was the icing on the cake.

I really like Darcy and Bingley’s brotherly relationship. Darcy certainly oversteps and makes terrible mistakes in his advice to Bingley, and Bingley perhaps takes his advice too freely, but they clearly love and respect one another, and want the best for each other. It says a lot about Bingley that he was able to break through the thick walls Darcy built around himself and grow so close with him before anyone else did, besides Georgiana.

A social comedy, like a true comedy it ends happily and presence of austen's humour, scattered throughout the novel which provokes laughter. A true gem .

3:58-4:03 When he says “pride will always be under good regulation” and we see her reaction, it’s clear in their eyes that they’re totally in love. That’s what I admire most about this adaptation. They speak through their eyes. It’s the pauses between the dialogue that drive me crazy! ❤

There is no kissing throughout this series until the end, just as in Regency times. People did not hug, kiss, or hold hands, other than when dancing, and when dancing only sparingly. They would not dance more than twice with the same partner, or there would be talk throughout the area. A kiss was reserved for marriage partner. It would cause a pox on the family to be seen holding hands, let alone kissing.
