Brisbane tourism and hospitality workers have completed a program to ensure the Australian city welcomes world leaders and thousands of G20 delegates with open arms, a friendly smile and plenty of local knowledge this November.

Brisbane is the third-largest city in Australia, with arguably the best lifestyle in the country. It’s rapidly becoming a destination of choice for business, investment and major events and preparations for the summit are well underway.

Three new hotels have opened in the CBD in recent months, with two more to be online by G20 and another four to open in 2015. A surge of new restaurants have attracted several world-class chefs and local breweries are leading Australia's beer revolution.

Brisbane Lord Mayor Graham Quirk said there was considerable interest from industry in Brisbane Welcomes the World training ahead of the Leaders Summit and local businesses and volunteers would play an important role in the success of the forum.
