The EC20 is very similar to the EC23 and I'm glad I went with that instead - just has better power management and doesn't need a high drain battery to work properly. It was a bit cheaper and still very bright in turbo mode. Also - the intensity settings cycle a lot faster and there is no 3 second delay to step through the brightness levels - it will start cycling immediately whenever you press and hold. Only two quick presses to strobe. EC20 is just a much easier to use flashlight overall. Not sure which model Nitecore introduced first, however.

After i saw your review i ordered one, and arrived today, man...Is very bright and work s good, and i find one mode that you don t see it maybe ...so, in any memory mode if you press and hold it will go in turbo mode until you release the button. It s a fast function to get on turbo only for few second s if you needed. God job man, thank you !!!

I was so close to purchasing the EC23 and the fact that it had no pocket clip made me chose the XT2CR instead. But great review man :) your reviews are always good detailed and thorough

Nice review. I like this flashlight but the user interface is really confusing

I have this light and at times when I charge the battery and throw it back in the light does not want to activate. There are also times when I try and set it to the brightest setting and it just turns off and won't come back on on. I have to unscrew the cap and then the mode switch flashes and then I will come on but will repeat. Any advice?

But I'll tell you what. I do not look forward to ordering the pocket-clip separately. Having to buy it. Pay for the shipping. Then waiting for it. What are they thinking?

Is a bright one, but the lack of tail switch and the lame interface is a deal breaker to me, klarus xt2cr remains my fav tube flashlight

Nice review. Would like to point out that it does have SOS and beacon mode as well as strobe. Also, you mention the battery several times but I don't think you said it specifically needs an IMR which is capable of outputting 8A to get the 1800 lumen output. Just helping out, no disrespect intended.

Nice review.. this light would be almost perfect if it had a forward clicky switch.
Mode steps are great. I’m looking for a good nightstand tac style light with at least 1000lm and firefly mode 0.5lm. leaning towards the ThruNite tc12 v2 not many lights this size have the 0.5 lumen mode.
