This is pretty identical to the sigma 100-400. Is there a visible difference in performance against the sigma variant to this lens other than build quality and weather sealing?

A lense that can be held steady, auto focus, and has light adaptability like a Leica gives the professional photographer control when you can't predict the elements. One less thing to have to worry about. You get to be more present with your subject. Focused on the moment you get to capture. This is an artistic, well produced infomercial highlighting nature. Beautiful video. Very well done but it never really goes any deeper than the surface about a "woke" looking woman wearing a poncho and a hat wearing boots with a bunch of horses . Not even a single frame showing the result of the Vario-Elmar
