This is basically Persona 5's spiritual successor. Katsura Hashino the original creator of P3, 4 and 5 has left the franchise 8 years ago to create this new IP and so have most of the persona 5 staff. Most people that work on this game would have worked on P6 if Hashino had decided to make Persona 6 instead.

Oh, just noticed Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak has basically the same system. You fight enemies outside battle to stun, then enter party battle with an advantage.
