My family's favorite pie is what we call black bottom pie. It's a layered pie with the first layer being chocolate pudding with rum flavoring (or actual rum), then vanilla pudding, then whipped cream. It makes great leftover pie, probably because it's best cold and fresh from the fridge.

Well, we rarely eat pies during our holidays in Sweden but when it comes to pies, apples are always a classic. Another favorite of mine is rhubarbs and raspberry pies are always up there too. Blueberry are pretty good as well.

Pumpkin is my go-to pie. It reminds me of family time and just less-stressful adult times where my biggest concern is how many slices of pie I can fit in my face. As a kid I used to not like it much, but now it's one of my favorites (I wish pumpkin was in season now because I would get one for pie day, but I'll get apple instead.)

I want to say banana cream pie is my favorite for thanksgiving, but no bakery in my area has banana cream pie on their holiday pie reserve list for some reason, so I have to have ice cream instead. I should learn how to make banana cream pie.

If you have any nostalgic feeling for the Macy's parade, you MUST read Balloons Over Broadway: The True Story of the Puppeteer of Macy's Parade by Melissa Sweet. It is a children's book but it is impeccably researched and the illustrations are amazing. I would also suggest viewing a video on Vimeo called Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade - New York, 1939. It was found rather recently and it is in COLOR!

I love strawberry rhubarb pie! Apple pie and blueberry pie are probably tied for my second favourite. Not really a fan of pumpkin, though I will eat it if it was offered.

Pie is holy in my husband's family. Holy. I had to git gud, fast. He says Pumpkin at Thanksgiving, and blueberry or cherry around Christmas. I like a good chocolate chess or buttermilk. My favorite pie is peaches and cream.

Also, yay Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade! It's... not as good as it used to be. Maybe this year will be better now that a certain host will no longer be fouling the parade with his inability to. shut. up.

I usually don’t eat pie for the holidays, but my favorite one is cherry pie. Though I still hate the pie crust I really just like the cherries.
