NC has 2 official BBQ sauces. Eastern North Carolina is a vinegar, black pepper-based sauce and is mopped on during cooking any pork. They also put vinegar in their coleslaw instead of mayo. Western North Carolina BBQ sauce is a Tomato-Based sauce that is thick, tangy, and sweet. Central NC swings either way but leans to eastern North Carolina vinegar sauce. Grits can be exchanged for any carb like potatoes or pasta or rice.

North Carolina style BBQ is usually a tangy and pretty vinegary sauce. Growing up on east coast had it a few times with gumbo, chicken and crawdads. My dad moved to North Carolina later in life. Imagine a salt and vinegar chip and BBQ chip mixed together / sort of what NC Style sauce is like.

There's a lot of items in that bowl that i love, but all of them together just does not sound right. I think i will pass on this item if i see it. Great review though!

The Black-Eyed Peas aren't supposed to be crunchy. They're not cooked enough, which is my only problem with this dinner.
