Cybercrime has been an ongoing issue ever since keypad phones and DVDs, and it has evolved with the same pace of our technology from fake texts and scammer calls up to fraudulent emails and links. Many people are still clicking into these persistent baits and until now, traditional banks are the most affected as these cyberhackers enter their systems and steal.

It might be easier to spot fraud nowadays with the help of technology, but cybercrimes are also evolving and adapting, thus the use of DeepFake technology that uses artificial intelligence or AI to create fake but realistic audio and video recordings of different people that can be used by criminals to access secured assets.

In a fast-paced world of technology, these AIs are built for good to help humans ease tasks, but at the same rapid time, these criminals are using the same technology that is becoming a threat in our online ecosystem and data security. What could be the future of cybercrime and how will this affect our safety as we stream in the metaverse realm moving forward?

I believe it can be used for good and mostly will. The issue is (like you say) keeping a head of the cyber criminals. It seems as soon as new technology is out to ensure the users safety someone figures out a way to break that safety net.
