Christina Mertzani class

Christina graduated as a choreographer, dancer and dance teacher in 2004 from the Athens State School of Dance. Since 2005 Christina gives classes in modern dance, improvisation, partnering and stretching in various studios including Marameo, SOZO Visions in Motion and others She is a founding member of eleutheri ptosi with which she presented the pieces "metamorfosis" and "inside" in Greece, Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Spain. Christina has danced with SMACK, Lathos Kinisi, Ad-Lip, Quissistelar, Amalgama, Ano Teleia, Chorotheatro Roes. She has also danced choreographies by Wim Vandekeybus, Mark Morris and Martha Graham. Since 2010 Christina is education administrator for the "one small step" urban dance festival. Class description: Attention at this class will be given to two main directions; technique and performance of movement. At the first part,- warm up and body preparation – through simple exercises we will work on mechanisms we have in our disposal in order to approach the floor with safety, and speed, to move rapidly and agile at the same time, and to cover as much space as possible using our full potential.Further on we will continue to more complicated movement vocabulary. Such as apart of a given choreography and we will focus on the intention and ways we present movement to the audience.We will take into consideration the differences and at the same time we will work as a team.Main goal of that class is to open our senses, to communicate through movement with our colleges and to gain more satisfaction through our dancing.
