For the expandable storage, you literally take off ONE Panel and unscrew the expansion slot. I do not know how that was missed in this video...

I disagree that the ssd expansion is slot is difficult to get to or “so many steps”. You literally remove the side panel and the screw to the ssd enclosure. That’s it. Seems super simple. And it’s not like this is something you’ll be doing often. I’d much prefer a more standard solution than the more expensive proprietary storage alternative (Xbox series x).

It's one screw to get to extra storage lol. The panels come off very easy

I’m glad they made expanding storage easy. Pop faceplate take out a screw or two and that’s it like the PS4. They did an awesome job putting this together you can tell the had people thinking and working hard on the console

idky kevin k was so bewildered by the teardown, its actually simpler than the ps4 pro, and accessing the ssd expansion is not hard at all, take out base & panel, unscrew lid...how often do we need to insert an m2 drive anyways?

I agree it is harder to get to the extended internal storage, however you failed to mention that this is an additional SSD slot entirely. The PS5’s 825gb SSD is soldered to the motherboard, the slot we were looking at is separate, and would therefore mean any additional internal storage you add will be in addition to the current 825gb. Where before, you would have to replace all existing internal storage with a new drive.

To pop in SSD its still easy just pop out the top panel then put SSD in the slot

I'm sorry but if anyone complains that getting to the slot for the expandable storage is "hard" then they shouldn't own a console.

How under representing how difficult it is to replace the drive on a ps4 pro:
1) remove panel (which I find difficult sometimes)
2) remove large screw
3) pull out drive
4) remove 4 screws from the drive Bay

The ps5 basically removes the last step, or it's about the same level of difficulty

To get to expandable storage you literally only have to take off the side panel. Not complicated in the slightest.
