Arduino Tone Polyphony - Part 5

Improving on the tuning from "part 3" of my 12-note tone-like polyphony project for the Arduino Uno.

Thanks! I just breadboarded this with an Arduino Nano and it works great.
I added an op-amp buffer and it sounds pretty good through my analog gear.
I don’t understand much of the code though and I’m wondering how to go about
reducing the polyphony to 8 notes. I’d like to use a spare digital pin to send a short pulse
to trigger an envelope generator.
