This Shepherd’s Pie recipe is a savory pie with a meat and vegetable gravy topped with creamy parmesan mashed potatoes. Shepperd’s Pie is a stunning and welcoming dish for the holiday table.

INGREDIENTS FOR THE POTATO TOPPING:
►2 lbs russet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1” thick pieces
►3/4 cup heavy whipping cream, warm
►1/2 tsp fine sea salt
►1/4 cup parmesan cheese, finely shredded
►1 large egg, lightly beaten
►2 Tbsp butter, melted to brush the top
►1 Tbsp Chopped parsley or chives, to garnish the top

INGREDIENTS FOR THE FILLING:
►1 tsp olive oil
►1 lb lean ground beef or ground lamb
►1 tsp salt, plus more to taste
►1/2 tsp black pepper, plus more to taste
►1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped (1 cup)
►2 garlic cloves, minced
►2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
►1/2 cup red wine
►1 cups beef broth or chicken broth
►1 Tbsp tomato paste
►1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
►1 1/2 cups frozen vegetables of choice

I tried this recipe and it was amazing! I didn't have Worcestershire sauce so I used two tsp vinegar and two tsp soy sauce as a replacement. I also didn't have whipping cream so I used 3/4 cup of milk and 2 tbsp of butter. Thank you for such an easy to understand recipe!

I did something simular this. I call it a Mini Shepherd's Pie. I used a large 6 muffin pan and used hamburger to form what would be the crust. Then added the gravy mixed veggie and topped it with the mashed potatoes. It was awesome!

This looks delicious. I grew up eating Sheperd's pie. My mother made it in three layers. Ground beef on the bottom, creamed corn in the middle and mashed potatoes on top sprinkled with paprika. That's more or less how I make it to this day, in fact I'm eating some right now for breakfast, but I'll definitely give your recipe a go next time I make it!

Made this for some friends and they loved it. Followed the recipe to the letter and it came out perfect! It was their first time eating Shepherd's Pie; didn't even know what it was. Needless to say I will be making it again and again. Thank you for a fantastic recipe.

Shepherds pie, my family rated it a 10, and I've never made a shepherds pie before .I certainly will be making this dish again .
I don't think you could go wrong with Natasha's recipes .
Her Blueberry muffins, her Blueberry cake, beef and broccoli are a staple at my house .

I do mine similarly. I add freshly chopped rosemary. It makes an amazing difference.

Made this! Really solid dish, savory and comforting. First scoop was OMG good! On my second serving, I added an herb shaker mix on top that included rosemary and thyme that just elevated it to another level. I'll be including some fresh herbs next time I make it to see how that works out. Thanks so much!
