How to Program Subaru Garage Door Opener

Here's a quick video to show you how to clear our your Subaru homelink and program your garage door with your Subaru homelink mirror. This removes the need for the garage door clicker in your car.

How to program your Subaru homelink:

1. Click and hold buttons 1 and 2 on your homelink mirror (this resets your homelink mirror)

2. Clock the button on your homelink mirror that you want to program. At the same time, click and hold the button on your garage door opener that corresponds with the door or gate that you want to set.

3. Your Subaru homelink will flash green once it's been set.

Thanks, man. I've literally never had one of these work for me, but today, I made it happen! The really cool part is that I would need to lose pretty much my whole car to get locked out. While I'm not gonna say it's never been done before, it is definitely less common than losing that little plastic devil.

I wanted this option for my 19 trek, but the option cost almost as one monthly payment. I decided I didn’t need it since my opener has Wi-Fi and I bought the smallest keychain opener that’s made. My iPhone also doubles as a garage door opener too. I’ve always wondered how that mirror works. Thanks for posting.

Hey Alex! I actually got my 2021 forester sport at your dealership brand new 3 years ago. I tried to pair the car with my genie Aladdin 7155 then to no avail and recently thought I would try again. I contacted the company that makes the machine and they were no help. I followed your directions to a T and nothing. Could something be faulty?
P.S what is the green button to the right of the 3 do? On or off. Also, the car will be in the shop on the 5th at 9 am to have faulty usb adapters replaced if you are around. 😊

Does Homelink only work with the SUV on? When I turned off my Forester and clicked Homelink after I entered my garage, the garage door did not go down.

I have a liftmaster garage door opener. I pair it with homelink from the liftmaster remote. Every two weeks my 2023 Crosstrek loses the sync and stops opening the garage. Why does this happen? Is a Subaru Homelink able to sync with the liftmaster if I click the sync button from the garage door opener inside the garage?

Seems the 2025 Forester Touring doesn't have the garage opener function as it has the smart view mirror instead - am I wrong?
