The Seiko Turtle is definitely retro-cool! But is the price increase over the iconic SKX worth it? Watch this video to find out and see how it works for you.

That was a great review probably the best I've seen on you tube. You deserve more subs. No fancy studio or feather gloves, just detail. Good job

Turtle is the sweet spot for Seiko divers. Its got everything you need at a fair price.

I stumbled upon this SRP775 by accident tonight while browsing at a major retailer. Couldn't believe the clearance price of $180 plus tax... $196 out the door. Craziness! What an awesome piece! I had no intention of buying another dive watch, but couldn't pass this up. Great video!

Cheers on both.
I consider this Seiko more than a dress one, really beautiful. As you well mendioned the gold accents, the metalic dial gives a particular bright in the sun light.
The bracelet match perfect, no other strap needed.

I’ve got an original 6309, dated March 1980. I have to send it to seiko since it’s been sitting in a drawer for 20 years. But I look forward to rocking it with a nato strap in my business casual setting.

Fantastic review! Technical without being overbearing

Love my one too! The bracelet has a diving extension by the way - the extra clasp opens out a further amount so it can be fitted over a wetsuit.

Another terrific video Jon, this turtle is my next diver.
I have read about the turtle and apparently is one of the SKX ancestors, SEIKO brought it back a few years ago and it sold very well; I won’t be surprised if they stop SKX production and leave the turtle as the replacement - after all the turtle has everything that the SKX lacks.
I will be wearing my 009 until I get my SRPA21 PADI edition.
Cheers and man I’ll keep sharing your videos, good quality, to the point, well edited, good content, you definitely need more subscribers.

It looks a lot of watch, I was going to get a SKX (now they're discontinued) but one of my friends put me onto this. I've got large arms/wrist so this would suit perfectly, it's going for £550 in the UK but with interest free buying it's on my to-buy list in a month or two, this review has definitely sold me! Thank you!

Watching this while wearing my SRP775. I just wish now that Seiko would release an affordable 6105 reissue with a 4R35 movement.

Hey john, i have same watch as this. My question, why it doesn't have any "Japan-made" word on the dial? Instead it has only serial number?

I love the 775, I've had it a couple of months now, And I barely ever wear my 009 anymore. As you mentioned the bracelet is far superior to the 009, I threw that bracelet in a box in 2 days. I do notice it is a bit heavy, but I'm getting used to that .

Fantastic review. On future reviews could you include lug width and lug to lug measurements, very important for viewers considering if watch size is suitable for themselves.

Is it me or there's a yellow dial version of the skx that is pretty rare

Everyone calls this an oyster bracelet....it's not. It is an exact copy of the Omega Speedmaster bracelet, hence the polished parts.

Great video! We need to get you some better vermouth though my man! Try Cocchi di Torino or Carpano Antica.
