For me 0:38 was an indication that Yusei wasn’t clueless and kinda knew what Aki was about to say… that expression was not like "WTF" but more of a surprised face that she’s about to tell him her feelings there ..

But yeah both of them were mature enough to see that confessing now would only make it harder for them to part their ways for now and kinda like a hindrance to give it their all to each of their respective futures.

For those who are firm on Yusei not sharing mutual feelings … why the hell should he take the initiative to make physical contact then ?? There was no need for him to close the distance between them take her hand and tell her that her smile is the best and won’t lose to anyone in the world .. and why did he reciprocate the intimate stare and unwillingly let go of her hand …
To me more than a direct confession this interaction alone was proof enough of Yusei’s feelings not to mention that he’s a very stoic person but he still reached out to her first.

It ended on a hopeful yet clear note. Aki refusing to say goodbye as she’s determined to come back, even 8 years later she’s determined to keep on smiling and to give her best in order to see Yusei again with pride.

Just like the original Japanese VA’s said it’s predictable that these two will see each other again and end up together.

I’m just salty that they didn’t show us what Yusei was doing … and like showing us not only Aki but Team 5D’s returning to Neo Domino City to meet Yusei again ..

I hope one day we’ll get a proper epilogue with a conclusion to this… like all of them reuniting…( 10 years later and still nothing though ….)

Literally one of my favorite moments in the yugioh series, it was so damn beautiful and a great ending.
5ds is literally one of my favorite series of yugioh

0:30 the frame where she's blushing is ultra cute. She really was about to say it, but I'm glad they at least kissed off-screen. No one closes their eyes like that while staring at someone's eyes and being that close 😊 The finger slide from letting go of the hand is a nice touch too.

See this is a cute and well worth it scene but this is also bullshit, because how can you end this series saying that they don't have any romantic feelings for one another. If only this show wasn't for little boys this would've been the most power ship in all of yugioh.
