Behind the Camera Scenes - How To Make Sushi Series

We were fortunate to be featured on a prime time local news station for their weekly video magazine and for great reason; they wanted to see what all the fuss was about with Master Sushi Chef Hiroyuki Terada. We were obliged and Chef Hiro did his thing.

First up was our Vegetable Fried Rice; after that were his Spicy Tuna Bon Bons all with 24K gold flakes, and after was his Peking Duck Roll that isn't done anywhere in the world.

Thanks so much to everyone involved especially the producer, Anna, who brought out the best in us and made us look perfect. We are ever so grateful :)

As always, we wish to thank all of our fans for spending time here with us on YouTube. We're all humbled and grateful for all of you and for all the sweet, kind and spirited comments. See you in the next episode...

Excellent, fame at last for local TV, but already famous on the Internet haha, great dishes there too, at first I thought we were seeing the voice behind the camera who does these shows, but amazing how fast it's all done.

At first I thougt "this camera is very high-priced for those kind of videos" xD
And then I saw the microphone and remembered that you use different gear.

However... very nice to see you again in the spotlight, Chef Hiro :-)

I just recently watched the cheesecake dessert roll video. I had an idea for you if you ever experiment with dessert rolls again. I think shredded coconut with some condensed milk. Would make a great substitute for rice in a roll. My grandmother used to make candy strawberries for Easter. By taking coconut adding condensed milk for sweetness and so you could shape them into strawberries the coconut because very sticky and you could shape it into anything, and then roll them in strawberry jello powder for color and flavor with some green icing.

Could you also post the news video? I have seen other restaurants posting the videos of them being featured in other shows. If it was in the news, they won't air it again anyway

I'm very curious and hope you guys would be kind enough to offer some answers to my questions; is there a specific reason chef uses the sujihiki knife? Why he chooses to use that particular length?

I've never used a sujihiki knife and was absolutely astonished by the feats accomplished by chef Hiro. I use a much rounder, longer western chef's knife and am more than happy with it, but am interested in the benefits/compromises of the sujihiki knife and/or any other fine edged Japanese knives.

Thank you so much; I love the videos and the work coming from this kitchen.

Unless it'll be shown on the news video next week, any chance you guys can do a video on how to make the vegetable fried rice? I love japanese style fried rice and would really like to see how Chef Hiro makes it!
