Oxo seems to have come up with many winning products. Thanks for keeping the test honest and not picking the most expensive options!

I've been using leather welder's gloves I get at Home Depot. Great heat resistance, and the sleeve goes to the elbow.

I love the Ove Glove. Fits me and everyone I know unless your hands are freakishly gigantic, they work incredibly well and I have sworn by them for years.

I have the Ove Gloves. My smaller hands love the fit. I have the older ones without the silicon nubbies and the newer ones like you had. My hands swim in most of the mitts and I just can't get a good grip with them.

“Here is the best oven mitt”… Everybody at Cook’s -“hand me that kitchen towel”.

That Oxo mitt is exactly what I need for a gadget I bought for making breakfast sandwiches. This thing gets so hot and only safe to touch with protection. I plan to purchase these gloves. Absolutely love your reviews. I will be using my sandwich maker with confidence now.

I like using the Ove Glove the on problem I had was I had make sure that I didn't use it when handling anything that had hot liquid in it(I had a silicone oven Mitt for those applications).

The heat test temp should be higher so it mimicks the temp of taking the pans out of the oven.

Over six decades I've had occasions to use a variety of oven mitts with large hands, In general, I've found that any mitt style has limited my ability to safely grip and maintain control of hot utensils including trays, utensils, pots, lids and pans. After first encountering the Ove Glove, I've found it to be efficient in all situations, have two in service, a couple of new ones still in boxes should the need arise and have given a couple as gifts in past years.
I've had good results including them with my washing and have no plans to give them up for any alternative.

I have a glove-type that is beige in color. I can make out the name a little and I believe they say Super Glove. I think they were one of the first to come out with a glove. I cannot find them anymore but I refuse to throw them away because they have been the best heat protection I have every used. Mitts are too big and awkward on my hands so I got rid of those. I purchased two Ove Gloves but I still don't like them as much as my original set of beige gloves. I just wish I could get some new ones. Thank you for this video.

I haven't seen the testing but I am a big fan of the glove style and have used them for years. When handling something hot, a more solid and dexterous grip is much more useful and safe than a lengthy grip time. They do get dirty over time but last for ages and are my recommendation.

When I think of "oven mitt" I think of one that is used to take hot things out of the oven. Not to use on the range with a pot or pan. I'd use a "pot holder" for that.
As for the oven mitts, I have the ones that were chosen with the silicone outside and they do work well for me when baking. My only problem is how do you clean the inside which is some sort of fabric. They do get grimy from cooking and putting them on and off. They are impossible to turn inside out to try and clean.

I wish they included links for place 2 and 3 because I really would prefer the glove with all the fingers…

Thanks for the recommendation. I need new mitts and my favorites aren't available anymore. I ordered two of the Oxo Good Grip in red. I am usually very pleased with their products. Sassy! 😉

So how did the “really large” glove perform and what was it called? Because people with large hands deserve good oven mitts, too.

80 % of my cooking stull is by OXO. certainly on the top of thier game. i need to move hot roasters, doing sourdough bread. i af several different mits, and OXO, and Kitchenaid, are by far the best..though the kitchen aids i have are more like potholders.

_"...the upper hand."_ -- GROAN!

Anyway, count me as a vote for the form factor of the square mitts. My favorite mitts in my house have that shape. Unfortunately, they're wearing out and I haven't found anyone making similar ones today, and I agree that the connected design is awful. I'd be tempted to get those ones that are connected, and just cut them apart.

As far as the winners go, the Oxo mitts, well...based on my experience with other silicone brands, I'm skeptical I'd like those. On the other hand, my kitchen is _filled_ with Oxo products, and all of them are straight up winners (except one: not a big fan of the wire cheese slicer I have...the wire likes to pop off too easily while you're slicing cheese). So knowing nothing else, I can still easily believe those are the best, despite my skepticism. :)

Ours are the OXO plus the doubled mitts - as removing a large roasting pan or casserole dish from the oven protects our full forearms.
